تناقضات عصرنا الحاضر
today we have bigger houses and smaller families
more conveniences but less time
نملك هذه الايام منازل أكبر، واسر اصغر
ونملك وسائل راحة اكثر ، ووقتا اقل
we have more degrees but less common
more knowledge but less judgment
لدينا شهادات اكثر، ومنطق اقل
ولدينا معرفة اكثر ، وحكمة اقل
we have more experts but more problems
more medicine but less wellness
لدينا خبراء اكثر ، ومشاكل اكثر
ولدينا ادوية اكثر ، وعافية اقل
we spend too recklessly laugh too little
drive too fast get to angry too quickly
stay up too late get up too tired read too little
watch tv too often and pray too seldom
إننا ننفق بتهور، ونضحك قليلا ، ونقود سياراتنا بتهور
ونغضب بسرعة ، ونسهر كثيرا ، ونستيقظ منهكين ، ونقرأ قليلا ، ونشاهد التلفزيون كثيرا
ونادرا ما نصلي!!!
we have multiplied our possession but reduced our values
talk too much love too little and lie too often
لقد ضاعفنا ممتلكاتنا ، وقللنا قيمنا ، إننا نتكلم كثيرا ، ونحب قليلا، ونكذب كثيرا جدا
we have learned to make a living but not a life
we have added years to life not life to years
لقد تعلمنا كيف نكسب رزقنا ، ولم نتعلم كيف نحيا
لقد اضفنا سنوات الى حياتنا ، ولم نضف حياة الى سنوات عمرنا
we have taller building but shorter tempers
wider freeway but narrower viewpoints
لدينا مباني اعلى ، وطباعا حادة ، ولدينا طرق سريعة اوسع ، ووجهات نظر اضيق
we spend more but have less
we buy more but enjoy less
إننا ننفق اكثر ، ونملك اقل
إننا نشتري اكثر ، ونستمتع اقل
we have been all the way to the moon and back
but have trouble crossing the street to meet new neighbor
لقد وصلنا للقمر وعدنا ، ولكننا ننزعج من عبور الشارع لزيارة جار جديد
we have conquered outer space but not inner space
we have split the atom but not our prejudice
لقد انتصرنا على الفضاء الخارجي ، ولم ننتصر على انفسنا
ولقد شطرنا الذرة ، ولم نتغلب على اهوائنا
we write more but learn less plan more
but accomplish less
إننا نكتب كثيرا ، ونتعلم قليلا ، ونخطط كثيرا ، وننجز القليل
we have learned to rush but not to wait
we have higher incomes but lower morals
لقد تعلمنا العجلة ولم نتعلم الانتظار
ولدينا دخل اعلى ، واخلاق ادنى
we build more computers to more information to produce more copies
but have less communication we are long on quantity but short on quality
إننا نصنع المزيد من اجهزة الكمبيوتر لتحفظ معلومات اكثر، ولتعطي نسخا اكثر
ولكن الاتصال في ما بيننا اقل ، لدينا فائض في الكمية ، ونقص في النوعية
these are the times of fast foods and slow digestion
tall men and short character
steep profits and shallow relationships
هذه هي أيام الوجبات السريعة والهضم البطىء
رجال طوال القامة ، صغار الشخصية ، ارباح كبيرة ، وعلاقات ضحلة
more leisure and less fun more kinds of food
but less nutrition two incomes
but more divorce fancier houses but broken homes
لدينا الكثير من اوقات الفراغ ، والقليل من المتعة
لدينا الكثير من انواع الطعام ، والقليل من التغذية
لدينا دخل عال ، وطلاق اعلى
لدينا منازل فاخرة ، وبيوت محطمة
thats way I propose that as of today
you do not keep anything for a special occasion
because every day that you live is a special occasion
لذا فأني اقترح اعتبارا من اليوم ان لا تحتفظ بشيء لمناسبة خاصة
لأن كل يوم هو مناسبة خاصة
search for knowledge read more sit on your front
porch and admire the view without paying attention to your needs
ابحث عن المعرفة واقرأ كثيرا واجلس في شرفة منزلك الامامية
واستمتع بالمنظر دون النظر الى حاجاتك
spend more time with your family and friends
eat your favorite foods and visit the places you love
اقض مزيد من الوقت مع أسرتك واصدقائك وتناول الاطعمة التي تفضلها
وقم بزيارة الاماكن التي تحبها
life is a chain of moment of enjoyment not only about survival
الحياة سلسلة من اللحظات الممتعة وليس مجرد البقاء على قيد الحياة
remove from your vocabulary phrases like (one of these days) and (someday) lets
(write that letter we thought of writing (one of these days
احذف من مفرداتك عبارات مثل ( في يوم من هذه الايام ) وكذلك (يوم ما )
ولنكتب تلك الرسالة التي فكرنا في كتابتها ( في يو من هذه الايام )
lets tell our families and friends how much we love them
do not delay anything that adds laughter and joy to your life
لنخبر أسرنا واصدقاءناعن مقدار حبنا لهم
ولاتؤجل أي شيء يبعث الضحك والسرور في حياتك
every day every hour and every minute is special
and you dont know if it will be your last
إن كل يوم وكل ساعة وكل دقيقة هي شيء مميز
وأنك لاتدري إن كانت إي منهاستكون هي الاخيرة في حياتك
if you are to busy to take the time to send this message to someone you love
and you tell your self you will send it( one of these days) just think
.one of these days you may not here to send it
